Hi All,
We have a requirement wherein the customer wants to export all the tables in the Qlik Sense Application to excel by one event (click of one button). Can you suggest is there a way to achieve this.
Thanks and Regards,
Raghav
Create an application that uses the Qlik Sense API's to connect with the Qlik Sense Server and extracts all the data of a Qlik Sense App and stores the data in excel files. Hello Raghavendra,
For my knowledge and I am sure others in the Qlik community, I am very curious as to WHY they would want to do this? Can you describe more about this requirement? When using tools like Qlik Sense, one usually wants to get data out of Excel and put it into Qlik Sense - not vice versa. When I see requirements like this, it leads me to believe there is a misunderstanding on how the solutions are used and be revert back to what they are used to. For example dumping data into excel so it can be used in another tool, etc.
Thoughts?

Hi Mike,
You have raised a very good point. The scenario here is quite different. The data from multiple databases have been integrated and reports are generated. The output is reviewed by large number of business teams as part of their periodic review process and action plan is taken based on that.
To facilitate the review process we need to circulate various report outputs to users.
Thanks and Regards,
Raghav
Why kill trees for that? Give them access to the app in Qlik Sense Server. Or perhaps Qlik Cloud is an option that suits the needs better.
Hi Gysbert,
There are around 2,000 business team members and the management does not intend to give access to all of them currently.

Raghav
Very nice points Gysbert - Raghav - I think you may need to revisit the solution - sounds like that Data storytelling can also help out in this situation.
Please mark the appropriate replies as CORRECT / HELPFUL so our team and other members know that your question(s) has been answered to your satisfaction.

I assume that plans are not made in isolation, but in groups. Presenting information to a group does not necessarily mean giving every group member access to Qlik Sense. Only one person needs to be able to access the Qlik Sense app to present relevant information to the rest of the group in a meeting. During such a meeting stories and charts can be adapted or created and then exported as needed to powerpoint, excel, pdf and mailed to the group members.
Hi Mike, Gysbert,
Totally agree with your points that story telling option or one individual handling the demo in Qlik Sense during the meeting can handle the situation.
Currently the reports are circulated with business teams 2 days earlier and the teams prepare themselves for the meeting. This has been the practice at the company for years and the management wants to move towards the automation in phased manner though we have been insisting otherwise.
Also, while building story telling we face below issues
Hence we need to address the company’s requirement of exporting the reports and sharing with the larger group before the review meetings. Please let me know if there any extensions/APIs which can be used.
Thanks and Regards,
Raghav
I understand you won't be able to change the culture and this process right away. Perhaps you could find a couple of teams willing to try it another way. I'm thinking of meetings where the preparation for the planning meeting is done. One of your organisations Qlik Sense specialist could facilitate that preparation meeting with the Qlik Sense apps to explore and analyze and of the story/chart creation for the information that should be part of the planning meeting.
Anyway, good luck with your data extraction problem.
