I want to connect to data in our Interbase sql server. I see a list of database servers but no Interbase is available.
I know that ODBC is a work around.
Anyone who connect with Qlik to an Interbase SQL server?
Hi,
as I know there is now specific Interbase SQL Server connector available.
You can connect via ODBC or OLEDB. The appropriate component from Interbase have to be installed beforehand.

Thomas

If you mean, if there are plans to provide a direct connector to Interbase database? I would say NO!
Not even for Microsoft SQL Server or Oracle there are specific connectors. So it´s very unlikely that a connector for Interbase will be writte, since Interbase is not a very common database.
But there should be no problem: Find and install an (64bit) ODBC driver for Interbase and connect with Qlik Sense 🙂
Dear Thomas,
In the QLik Sense are the Microsoft sql and Oracle available as standard connections.

Not sure what you have installed, but standard connections (without further connectors) are
- Folder (--> to file system)
- ODBC (--> installed ODBC driver necessary, MS SQL Server is maybe automatically installed with Windows)
- OLE DB (--> installed OLEDB driver necessary, MS SQL OLEDB come maybe also with Windows)
- Web-File
That´s it what the standard provides 🙂
Hi Thomas,
See connecten TAB in QLike sense

Andre below link might help you.
https://intelligentsql.wordpress.com/2014/09/23/using-the-new-qlik-sense-desktop/
Below are the videos for getting started qlik sense: If you see data modeling section it has detail explanation on how to connect to database.
Ok. I was looking on Qlik Sense Server 2.2. I assume your screenshot is from QS 3.0 (current version).
Finally you need Interbase and there I would bet that now native connector will be available within the next year. It´s just a feeling.
Why not using ODBC?
Hi Thomas,
ODBC is an extra to maintain, thats all. The I had an aswer using the script editor, also an interesting solution.
For now thank ypou for answering all questions. Manny Thanks.
