Join vs. Keep?

Hello all, on development should we be using 'join' or 'keep'? Which would be more helpful in terms of using up server space vs resources?

When using left “Keep” for one of an apps, the dataset size seems to be reduced (intersection) but it takes longer to load the data.

Which one is recommended?

I think the question goes in the wrong direction. In the end you need a valid datamodel - ideally designed in the direction of a star-scheme - and which methods of merging and associating the tables are possible respectively more suitable as others depends on the data and the requirements.

Further you need to find a compromise between load-runtimes, server-performance, development efforts, maintainability, UI performance ... general working advices are not really possible.
