QVD : what is field offest ? can it vary with Qlik version ?

Hello all,

I have two servers on Qlik Sense with two different versions. As a checking for upgrading the production server, I'm doing some non-regression tests based on QVD and I found that sometimes, while all things seems ok, I have difference in the OFFSET metadata. I didn't find anything about that on Qlik Help, neither on qvx specification (https://community.qlik.com/t5/QlikView-Documents/QlikView-QVX-File-Format/ta-p/1484976?attachment-id...).

Basically, I don't understand what is this metadata field and if  I have to test it for my non regression.

Hi Simon,

The QVD stores metadara but this can indeed vary by version but also how and when the file is saved. You can't do a regression on the size of the app.
