Hi experts,
We are using Qlik Sense Enterprise on quite a broad level. Projects can be quite large and in some cases multiple people are working on one app. What is the best practice on working with multiple people on one app? Since you cannot work on it at the same time, you need to pass the app around among users. This isn't really workable though.
Any tips?
Thanks,
Stijn

This might not be the best practice. You can set up a security rule that allow group of developer to access same app. However, all the developer's hub will be the same. It is also hard to track changes made by individual developers.
Thanks for your response! In order for multiple users to have access to the same app it needs to be published though right? The problem I am experiencing there is that when users duplicate an app, they are not able to see the script (unless they are contentadmin for example). In our current setup we have a stream per project basically. I don't want to work with custom properties because it will be way to much maintanance..
No, I didn't mean published app. I was referring to an unpublished app. If you want developers to work on unpublished app at the same time, you should use security rule. If you are using a stream with different target consumers, you are already using custom property.
Ok so you mean that they can all access the same app in their own workspace? Any idea on what security rule should look like?
Hi,
You need create custom properties UserType for User and AppType for App, then create security rule. I am not good at security rule, but this rule works for me (all DEV users will have all DEV app in their work space)

Hi Stijn,
Definitively we give up doing such manipulations and invested in a source control tool. Like this we have only one file and one version of the truth in the tool repository and always doing checkout to the mywork of the developper using latest version. Then deployment is just a dream drag & drop to PRD and done with instant rollback.
It's a huge change for our team and a great quality update.

Thanks all for the input! I will create a security rule for this
Hi,
For lots of good reasons, including multiple developers, you could use QDF and externalise lots of components from your apps :
