Hi All,
I am hoping someone has come across this problem and can share some knowledge. I am Tenant admin for my Qlik Sense Business environment. I followed the steps to authenticate my Qlik Sense Desktop against Qlik Sense Business. Step 1 downloaded and installed 2020 June and then Step 2 followed the Authentication steps. Everything worked and works 100%.
I helped a Client setup their Qlik Sense Business environment and also installed Qlik Sense Desktop 2020 June on his machine. In QSB he is also Tenant Admin with Professional license. When I select the Authenticate option in QSB it opens QSD and asks to login for Authentication. As soon as one select the login, QSD closes, without asking for the log in credentials.
It's a strange one, but is anyone or has anyone else experienced this?
Thank you very much.
I heard back from Qlik Support this afternoon. It seems there is a ‘known issue’, and they are working on it, that effects some Qlik Sense Desktop installation updates.
The workaround is to uninstall Qlik Sense Desktop, but, when uninstalling Qlik Sense Desktop, make sure all files are removed from %LocalAppData%\Programs\Qlik if you intend to install another version. If the files are not removed, Qlik Sense Desktop may crash when trying to apply the license.
Looking in the release notes, there is this section.
Maybe it has something to do with firewall / proxy rules blocking the authentication process?
Thank you for that thought. It is a possibility.
I have logged a call with Support. Maybe they can advise on which ports should be opened when authenticating April 2020 via a firewall or proxy.
Thank you.
We have the same issue with failing authentication of Qlik Sense Desktop 2020 June against our Qlik Sense Enterprise Server. After pressing the authentification button in Qlik Sense Desktop the program execution stops without any user message.
Our Qlik Sense Enterprise Server is on February 2020. Furthermore I wonder, if it's mandatory that Enterprise Server and Desktop have the same Version?
I am not sure if it is mandatory, but it will probably be good practice.
In my case QSB and QSD are both on June 2020.
I logged a call with Support on Monday, 22/6, but have not had a reply.
