QlikSense users - How to add in QMC

Hello Qlikers,

I just want to know how to add users of a windows server into QMC.

Scenario:

Let us assume a new user joined for my client, USER1 and I need to give him access to a QlikSense App.

But Iam not seeing the user in QMC .

My question here is , is the USER1 should be added to the AD group so that I can see him in QlikSense QMC.

Please suggest for a new user to be added into the QMC

Hi,

Qliksense Server offers a lot of "user directory connector's".. this is how it is called.

so first you must know how your users are connected to the network, examples:

• local users.
• Active directory users.

so you should start from the USER DIRECTORY CONNECTOR part on the QMC.

choose the right connector depending on your network configuration.

configure that connector

as soon as it's correctly configured, you will see your users on the USERS section of the QMC.

third step is to allocate a token to your users using the "Licence and Tokens" section.

The answer of Youssef is correct but u can add a user very easily without having to configure an active directory UDC.

In fact, if u want to just add one (or few users) without adding all the users of an AD (or a group of users in an AD);

u can just give that user the link of the QMC, tell him to try to connect to it; (he, obviously won't be able to)

But, once he tries to login; u'll see that his name will appear in the list of QMC Users; and thus u can give him whatever authrozations u want.

Yes, this is a technique used basically for local users because starting from 3.2 version, they removed the Local connector.

so to synchronize a local user, this is the only way now

Users

All user data is stored in the Qlik Sense Repository Service (QRS) database. You create user directory

connectors in the QMC to be able to synchronize and retrieve the user data from a configured directory

service. When a user logs in to Qlik Sense or the QMC, the user data is automatically retrieved. You can

change the authentication method that handles the authentication of the Qlik Sense users.
