I am currently testing the SMTP mail sending function, as it is not working properly.
After executing the Qlik SMTP Connector with the SMTP server information and checking the Data Preview, I encountered the following error:
With the change to a new SMTP server, I understand that we need to reconfigure the settings. Is there a specific part that requires separate configuration? I suspect that there might be an issue with the authentication-related settings, so I referred to the authentication section of the following link: https://help.qlik.com/en-US/connectors/Subsystems/Web_Connectors_help/Content/Connectors_QWC/Adminis...
In the link, there is a mention of "Binding the certificate to the port" with the term "appid." I am uncertain about what "appid" refers to. The link states that there are no parameters, but I am encountering an error.
Could you please help me identify the problem? Is there any specific configuration that needs to be changed in the Qlik SMTP Web Connector when the SMTP server is changed? And what does "appid" refer to?
I would greatly appreciate it if knowledgeable Qlik experts could provide some insights.
Thank you.
Hi @qwebnm,
Along with the above, this might help and will give you more info about setting up SMTP
And, about the "appid" you asked for, here is the information

firstly, this "appid" is the parameter for add sslcert command, not app in QS. Please see https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/win32/http/add-sslcert
My understanding is you can use any valid GUID.
To setup SMTP Web Connector, binding the certificate is not mandatory. You enable SSL just to add one layer of security.
The connector configuration depends on which SMTP server you try to connect, which usually provides the detailed settings. for example: https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb/office/pop-imap-and-smtp-settings-8361e398-8af4-4e97-b147-6c6c4a...
