Dear community,
I was wondering how to visualize sales flows from year to year and thought of using a sankey chart...
Suppose this example data:
Brand | Year | Sales |
A | 2018 | 100 |
A | 2019 | 120 |
A | 2020 | 115 |
B | 2018 | 150 |
B | 2019 | 180 |
B | 2020 | 200 |
C | 2018 | 80 |
C | 2019 | 150 |
C | 2020 | 250 |
In the flow chart I'd like to build, the dimensions would be the years (Dimension 1: 2018 ; Dimension 2: 2019, ...) and brands and the measure the sum of sales (or any P&L data). Any idea how to deal with that? I could unpivot the data to use years as dimensions, but I need years pivoted for my other charts.
If sankey chart does not allow this, would be very thankful for any other clues to visualize sales flows in Qlik over the years.
Thanks in advance ! 😃
Matthias
A Sankey chart really doesn't make sense here because you don't have values following from brand to brand. You may want to try a Funnel chart, with Year as your segment dimension, sum(Sales) as your measure. Set funnel mode as Width and use Values, not Shares. This will visualize the flow from year to year. You can add a Filter pane on Brand to show how sales flow per Brand. Just a thought.
Thats a cool idea indeed. Could I also include all Brands in the chart directly so that it reflects total sales and doesn’t need a filter pane?
