Hi,
I am new to Qlik Sense and I try some functions which we will need in our application.
When I use Rank(TOTAL <fieldname> otherfieldname)
The function-editor tells me, that there is an error in this function/syntax.
What is wrong?
The documentation says use the optional fieldname after TOTAL in those <> brackets?
I didn't find any examples where total is used with fieldnames.
THX
Rank(TOTAL <fieldname> SomeExpression)
That is what i am trying.
But I get the error message.
See screenshot.
Might be just one of those errors in the QlikSense documentation.
TOTAL in Rank() doesn't seem to work with a field list. Note that the old file-based QlikView documentation differs in that aspect:
rank([ total ] expression [ , mode [, format ] ])
Stefan, QlikView help seems to have same issue. (QlikView ‒ Rank - chart function)
Right,
I was talking about the old-fashioned, non-online HELP (.chm files) to help the old-fashioned off-line developers.
I don't think they changed the syntax inbetween.
The old help is better than new help
Ok, thanks.
Thus this just don't work.
Even if the documentation say so and the tooltip inside the editor when typing in Rank(
Thanks for the information.
I will check other ways to achieve my goals
