Transition to Qlik Sense

My company decided to switch from Power BI to Qlik Sense and so far it's been a mess.

Our IT team hasn't been able to load our database to Qlik's servers correctly and my boss asked me to start working on local files instead.

I managed to create some dashboards, however I don't understand how to refresh the information in my app. I tried dragging the files again to replace the information but this just creates copies of the tables I already have and makes the app crash.

What's the correct way to replace an "In app" file?

I take it you are working on the Desktop version? Getting data from local files should not be a issue, particularly since you have already created the app, with a dashboard, using some sort of local files. That means you already have a connection to the files.

Depending if your source files are a complete 'dump' every time or if they are incremental, the scripting with change somewhat.

Assuming it is a dump, so you are over writing a file that has 13 months of data with a file that now has 14 months of data, as an example. All you do is overwrite the file on disk with the new file, and reload the app, from the data load editor. It will then read in the data again, except it is now reading in more data.

I hope this is a ok explanation. If not, lets keep trying..
