Unable to connect to Qlik Sense HUB (server)

Hi all,

Last week I've installed the Qlik Sense Server beta 0.95 for a prospect, and all was fine. I was able to connect to the QMC and HUB, both locally in the server and externally in three notebooks via the local network. (there was a certificate trust issue, but we got through it).

As I received a Qlik Sense temporary license for this prospect, this week I uninstalled the beta version, installed the v1.0 server and applied the license (did not restart the server during this procedure). Locally I am able to connect to the QMC and HUB, so it seems that the server was installed correctly.

But externally I cannot access the HUB. Below are the screenshots of two errors. Tried to restart the server but the problem is still there.

error2.png

The second error is in portuguese, it appears right after entering the hub's url. It says something like: "An error has occurred. Connection lost. Verify if the Qlik Sense is working correctly. If the session reaches the time limit due to inactivity, reconnect to Qlik Sense to continue working. [Close] [Update]". When clicking in [Update], the browser seems to reconnect to the server but almost immediately the same message reappears.

As I am new to Qlik Sense, I'm not sure on what to do to identify the problem....

Can anyone help me?

Fernando

Hi Fernando.

put your server ip in whitelist (QMC proxy). I had the same issue and solved with this.

Fernando.

I forgot one thing.  I allowed http.

From an ipad I got the some error (error 400). I put ip in whitelist and allow http. From my ipad

http://192.168.1.10/hub

(put your ip)

and works.

I got it working with some tweaks ..

***  I am using mac running qlik sense server on win 7 via Parallels 9 ***

disabling win 7 firewall

providing server IP to QMC proxy white list

will let you access via win vm ip on Mac running Parallel

10.211.55.3/hub/

But it did  not work for me on other devices ( ipad / iphone on local wireless network )

I changed Parallel settings so it use IP from wireless router now its available on other devices ipad

192.168.0.22 etc

Do you run IOS8 on the devices you tested? In this case it is related to a change that you can't proceed without trusted Certificate as you do in Chrome.  iOS 8: List of available trusted root certificates

Yes, finally it is running! A mandatory detail like that would be nice to have in the installation guide.

This worked for me!

Thanks

I tried the listing the IP which didn't work but this fixed the issue.

Note that after doing so you may need to allocate a licence which is covered by this white paper Allocating Access Passes Information Guide
