What is the experience, cons, pros, recommendations migrating QlikView to Qlik Sense?

We have had QlikView for about 10 years, have a very stable system widely used by many users and are looking into Qlik Sense, I would like to hear the experience from the customer perspective. What is the recommendation, what problems were found while migrating, should we keep both: Implement Qlik Sense and keep QlikView ?

Hi you can see few points below

Migrating from QlikView to Qlik Sense can bring several benefits, but it's important to consider various factors before making a decision. Here are some recommendations and considerations based on customer experiences:

Evaluate the Use Cases: Start by assessing the specific use cases and requirements of your organization. Consider whether Qlik Sense aligns better with your current and future needs compared to QlikView. Qlik Sense offers a modern, web-based interface with improved self-service capabilities, enhanced visualizations, and collaborative features.

Plan a Phased Migration: It is generally recommended to plan a phased migration approach rather than a big bang migration. This allows for a smoother transition and minimizes disruption to existing users. You can start by implementing Qlik Sense for new projects or departments and gradually migrate existing QlikView applications over time.

Consider Training and Adoption: Qlik Sense has a different interface and user experience compared to QlikView. Providing training and support to users during the transition is crucial to ensure a successful adoption of Qlik Sense. Invest in training programs to help users leverage the new features and capabilities of Qlik Sense effectively.

Assess Application Complexity: Analyze the complexity and structure of your existing QlikView applications. Some applications may require redesign or optimization to take full advantage of Qlik Sense features. Evaluate the feasibility of converting or recreating QlikView applications in Qlik Sense, and identify any potential challenges or limitations.

Evaluate Licensing and Cost: Consider the licensing and cost implications of implementing Qlik Sense. Evaluate your existing QlikView licensing agreements and determine the best approach for licensing Qlik Sense. It's important to assess the cost benefits and return on investment (ROI) of migrating to Qlik Sense.

Maintenance and Support: Evaluate the resources required for maintaining both QlikView and Qlik Sense environments. Consider factors like server infrastructure, data governance, security, and ongoing support. Assess the long-term sustainability of maintaining both platforms and the potential benefits of consolidating to a single platform.

Ultimately, the decision to keep both QlikView and implement Qlik Sense, or fully migrate to Qlik Sense, depends on your organization's specific needs, budget, and priorities. Engaging with Qlik representatives or consultants can provide valuable insights and guidance tailored to your organization's circumstance.
