analyzer users get "no access pass" error

Some users were previously allocated as professional users, but they were de-allocated from professional and allocated analyzer licenses. Now, they get a message of "You cannot access Qlik Sense because you have no access pass." despite being listed as analyzers--and we have analyzer capacity minutes available.

what is the correct method to change a user from a professional license to an analyzer license seamlessly?

We have QlikSense April 2020 Patch 3.
