how to read log files so i can findout and enlist the number of fields which are used in qvds

i have assign the task in which i want to enlist the number of fields used in qvds in the application 

so for that i need to read log file and then have to reads the how many fields are used from  qvds 

so hence i need a logic or code in script of qlik for how to enlist the no. of fields in qvd.

please help me

You don't need the log-files for it else you could get the information from functions like: qvdnooffields() and qvdfieldname().
