Is it possible to define a variable in the load script, then have it updated by user input in a sheet and then trigger a reload of that load script?
If not can you please weigh in. I haven't seen anything about this anywhere and just want to know if it is even possible.
Thanks
Is that actually reloading the script or is it just changing a copy of a variable that was loaded into the sheet?
For instance, if I used your setup to pass two variables, in my case dates, to a stored procedure, would it actually reload the script and bring down the new data?
Yes, but you need to update the extension for two variables it's made for just 1 variable for now.
If you can do that it will be great/just tell me I'll add it for you.
Yes script is getting reloaded & as you can see I have passed thar variable ad parameter for auto increment
Will this work for you ?
I'll suggest you give it a spin first & test the reloaded data, if it meets your requirement then start the upgrade of extension/tell me I'll do it.
Thanks for all the feedback and the offer Ajay. I will test this more and let you know. I really appreciate the help.
My other concern is security. Users will need to have security rights in order to update correct?
As outlined here: https://community.qlik.com/t5/Qlik-Sense-Deployment-Management/Security-Rule-to-allow-users-to-reloa... ?
My question is, will giving them these rights open up a security issue where it might be easier for them to use malicious code to change the script to get access to other areas of the database?
Sorry qmc security I have nt explored much, but if you take your security settings out then my solution should work I'll still have a word with a friend hope he would be able to help
Got it. Again I appreciate the offer. I will be able to look at it a little later today. Thank you .
