Hi All,
Is there any possibility that we can avoid the usage of IE plug in in qlikview environments?
Because, whenever the QV upgrade happens, all of our clients needs to upgrade/install plugin in their machines and this leed to a huge work around.
Thanks,
Ganesh.
Hi Ganesh,
Yes its right each and every time you have to uninstall/install after upgrade happened.
So, I think you have to uncheck/check mark IE accordingly in QMC --> System --> Setup --> Qlikviewweb servers.
Best pracice is, Use AJAX Client instead of IE.
Below are the PROS & CONS
IE Plugin
Pros
Users can resize screen to fit
Users can run macros
Close fit to desktop view of document
Cons
Plugin has to be installed on each client
Plugin has to be uninstalled & reinstalled when server is upgraded
Extension objects not available
Only supported for IE not other browsers
Session collaboration not available
Ajax client
Pros
No installation at client
Extension objects can be used
Session collaboration
Notes and annotations
Supported on various browsers
Cons
Screens cannot be resized by users
Object positions and size can vary compared to desktop client
Macros not available
IE Plug In is not installed on Clients its on serverside, do you mean desktop?
Sorry, it is a Client installation.
There is a settings in QMC where you can tick or untick if IE Plug In should be available on server.
Tell them to use AccesPoint With AJAX mode.

Hi Ganesh,
You can take help of your IT support team to run IE plugin as patch file like other important software for all users.

Hi Amit/Ganesh,
Yes it is good and also one of the approach.
But whenever they upgraded the versions, they should have to follow the approach.
Instead of using IE, recommend Ajax Client.
