I have lost drop down menus and the menu bars from my newly downloaded version of QV11
I have uninstall and reinstalled but this has not made and difference
Can anyone tell me how to get the menus back please?

Do you mean in the Desktop or in the AccessPoint? For the former, go to the View menu, Toolbars, and select which ones do you want do see.

The problem is in the application itself. If I open any of the
examples on the start page of Qlikview the drop down menus are missing as are all the
toolbars.

Did you try the View menu as I suggested above? If you don't see it, just type the ALT key so the menu keys are highlighted and you can use them.

Did you find a solution to this - I have the same problem!
Sorted this out by going into the registry and resetting:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\QlikTech\QlikView\Toolbar 7\State-Bar0

It was just one user. I suspect I had accidentally dragged and dropped the menu bar into a strange place when closing the app down previously.
