Qlik Data Gateway Direct Access: Non-alphabetical named folders not shown in the File Connector list

A folder with a name consisting of non-alphabetical characters (such as in Japanese) has been correctly added to the configuration-file-connector.properties file stored in C:\ProgramData\Qlik\Gateway\, but the folder is not listed in the File (via Direct Access gateway) Connector.

Resolution

Verify configuration-file-connector.properties is set to UTF-8:

1. Open configuration-file-connector.properties in an editor such as Notepad++
2. Verify the character code
   
   
   

Cause

The character code of configuration-file-connector.properties is not set to UTF-8. This prevents the File Connector from recognizing the name.
