Does Qlik Replicate support NFS Shared storage?

Using NFS or SMB-based storage is not supported due to the associated latency which could greatly degrade the data transfer performance, as well as due to reduced reliability and compatibility issues.

Qlik recommends using a block device (physical, virtual or iSCSI-based) for the data folder.

Changing the Qlik Replicate installation folder to an NFS or SMB-based storage can lead to issues such as latency problems and the Qlik Replicate UI Server crashing immediately after launch.

In general, we do not support installing Qlik Replicate or its data folder in a shared drive (NFS or SMB). There are many reasons for that including that the SQLite we use does not support NFS and SMB (due to unreliable locking), and that such file systems introduce significant latency as Replicate writes a lot to the data folder to maintain recovery state.

The recommendation for HA scenarios is for the data folder to be placed on an iSCSI (block) device. Solutions like NetApp's ONTAP can be used for synchronous replication of the block device - for example, on AWS it can replicate EBS storages between availability zones.
