Flows are executable integration processes that contain Jobs published from Talend Studio. To run the flows on Talend Integration Cloud, you will need either a Cloud Engine or a Remote Engine and the appropriate license.
Available Licenses
You can access license information on the Subscription tab in Talend Management Console.
Fixed physical specifications (Memory, CPU, and Temp Disk Space)
Requires data sources and targets to be visible through the Internet to the Cloud Engine
Restricted to three concurrent Jobs
Remote Engine:
Downloaded from Talend Cloud
Runs on Windows or Linux
Managed by the end customer
Uses HTTPS calls to TIC service to get configuration information and Job definition and schedules
Unlimited Memory, CPU, and Temp Disk Space
Unlimited concurrent Jobs
Uses Hybrid Cloud or On-premises sources
As shown in the table above, there are advantages and disadvantages with either engine, but the criteria that will determine the use of Cloud or Remote engines will most likely be the architecture.
The architecture and use cases shown below will help you determine whether you should use a Cloud or Remote Engine.
