This article provides instructions on how to collect logs for Qlik Alerting.

Environment

  • Qlik Alerting, all versions

In all Qlik Alerting versions, logs are stored within each service installations folder, in a subfolder called daemon.

Example: C:\Program Files\Qlik Alerting\gateway\daemon\gateway.err

The *.err logs are useful when troubleshooting any service-related issues for example when a service may fail to start

To collect the required log files that are under the daemon folders:

  1. Go to the Qlik Alerting installation folder (default: C:\Program Files\Qlik Alerting)
  2. Search for "*.err"
  3. Select the resulting files, copy and paste them to a new folder
  4. repeat the steps above for "*.log"
  5. Zip the new folder and attach the zip archive to the support case

Starting with the Qlik Alerting June 2020 release, additional logging is located in the sub-folders under the following location:

C:\ProgramData\QlikAlerting

  1. Go to C:\ProgramData
  2. Copy the folder QlikAlerting to a new folder
  3. Zip the new folder and attach the zip archive to the support case
