If you would prefer passwords to be encrypted in the Qlik Visibility configuration files, run the following two commands in order:

cd $VISIBILITY_HOME/server/bin/

./encrypt -p

When prompted, enter and confirm the password to be encrypted. Make a note of the encrypted text and use it in place of the real password in any configuration file.

Note that the encrypted text is everything inside the single quotes, including the leading colon but excluding the single quotes.
