Qlik OData Connector is provided as a premium connector in Qlik Web Connectors. When connected to an OData data source (for example Sharepoint) doesn't work, it is necessary to test the connection using a third-party tool. This helps determine whether the issue is on the data source or the connector side.

OData connection can be tested using Microsoft Excel 2010-2013 or later. Instructions in detail can be found in the following article: Import data from data sources (Power Query)

From OData Feed.png

Notes when testing OData in Excel:

  • Excel should be installed on the same machine where Qlik Web Connector is installed
  • If the OData source requires authentication, use the same authentication method (Basic, NTLM, AuthHeader) in Qlik Web Connectors and Excel. NTLM and AuthHeader are called Windows and Web API respectively in Excel

A sample OData source to test: http://services.odata.org/V3/Northwind/Northwind.svc/. Use this as the OData Service Root URL in Qlik Web Connectors/ Excel
