When user open sheet from Qlik Sense application, the default session timeout is 30 minutes. If there is no interaction from the user side, opened session stops at a defined timeout.
This value can be modified in Qlik Sense Enterprise on Windows, but is fixed in all Qlik Sense SaaS editions. See What is the default user session timeout in Qlik Sense SaaS Editions?
Environment
To increase the timeout value:
- Open the Qlik Sense Management Console
- Navigate to Virtual Proxies in the left-hand pane
- Select the Virtual Proxy that needs to be configured
- Adjust the "Session inactivity timeout (minutes)" value to the desired value in minutes
Other active network components (Firewalls, VPNs, web browsers, etc...) have an impact on timeouts. See Qlik Sense HUB timeout even with session timeouts configured correctly
NOTE: In older versions of Qlik Sense (prior to February 2019), session timeouts will occur for all browsers and tabs in a console. Example: If a user session times out while they were using it, it is because there is another session in another tab/browser open that was unattended and exceeded the 30-minute timeout -- and this will close all sessions including the one actively engaged.
