This message means that there are more than one QlikView Management Service trying to control the existing environment. This will lead to instability since the services will get settings from two (or more) QlikView Management Services. Having more than one QlikView Management Service is not supported and will not work.

If the QlikView Distribution service receives multiple sets of instructions (more than one QlikView Management Service running) it will be logged by the Distribution Service. The default folder for the QlikView distribution logs is C:\ProgramData\QlikTech\DistributionService\1\Log. The log will be named with the date of the log.txt

The message will be:

Multiple caller detected but ignored due to different address families. Current IP:xx.xx.xx.xx, Previous IP: xx.xx.xx.xx

The Root log may also report that the number of Engines has changed. This will only be logged if the two QlikView Management Services have different numbers of Engines configured.

Resolution

Using the log files, identify the second server running a QlikView Management Service. This second service will need to be disabled in the Windows Services console to prevent it from automatically starting up upon server reboot.
