Introduction

I was recently testing an AutoML Experiment for a regression model and selected six algorithms to run. Four of the models completed while the other two were left in 'Training' state for some time.

Since I was ready to configure v2 on one of the completed models, I tried selecting 'Configure v2 -> make some changes/ dropped some columns-> Run v2' it would not let me because the original experiment had not completed yet.

The error shown is:

Another experiment version is currently running. Please wait until that version is complete.

The below instructions are to be used for ML experiments which may get stuck on occasion or if you want to stop training before it has been completed.

Steps

In order to stop/kill this experiment, and retry an ML experiment with only the four algorithms selected:

  1. Navigate to Management Console and on the left hand side, select 'AutoML'

  2. Find the experiment in the listing and on the far right hand side, click on the three dot icon and select 'Cancel Job'

The AutoML Experiment is now cancelled. Create a new experiment or a new version and give it another try.

If this is a recurring problem please reach out to Support in order to troubleshoot further.
