Problem

You were previously able to see your Remote Engine in the Target Exec tab in Talend Studio, but now you cannot see it.

Root cause

The Use Remote Engine for debugging Jobs in Studio radio button is toggled off and you do not have workspace Execute permissions.

Solution

  1. Log in to Studio. When logging in, ensure that you are using an online project.

  2. Log in to Talend Management Console. Navigate to Engine > Engine Details and enable the Use Remote Engine for debugging Jobs in Studio radio button. Ensure the host or IP address of your Studio instance is properly set in Talend Management Console.

Note: Your Remote Engine should not be part of the cluster when doing a remote run from Studio. If you add the Remote Engine to the cluster, it will not show up in the Target Exec tab. For more information, see the Enabling remote run in Talend Studio for Job debugging page in the Talend Remote Engine User Guide for Linux in Talend Help Center.

  3. Still in Talend Management Console, navigate to Environments > Workspace Permissions > Choose the Collaborator (User unable to see the Remote Engine). Verify that your user has Execute permissions for the given workspace. If they do not, grant the permissions.
