Qlik Sense nodes are showing as offline in the Qlik Sense Management Console or are not responding.
Certificates are installed on the rim node and the Qlik services on the rim node are running.
Qlik Sense Enterprise Server - all versions
This issue is very specific because the reason for failure is outside of the Qlik Product. A solution needs to be found within the network hosting the Qlik product.
Solutions applicable to the DNS issue are:
Try restarting the Qlik Sense services to reestablish connectivity. Verify with the networking team that the node is in the same subnet or within the same routable LAN, in the same domain, as the central node.
Review the repository system trace log located at:
C:\ProgramData\Qlik\Sense\Log\Repository\Trace\*System_Repository.LOG
It may show:
INFO qlikServerName System.Repository.Repository.Core.SystemInformation Exception encountered when fetching app migration hash, still trying. Failed attempts: 5 The remote name could not be resolved: 'qlikServerName.domain.com' at System.Net.HttpWebRequest.EndGetResponse(IAsyncResult asyncResult)?? at Qlik.Sense.Common.Communication.REST.Client.WebClientEx.GetWebResponse(WebRequest request, IAsyncResult result)?? at System.Net.WebClient.DownloadBitsResponseCallback(IAsyncResult result) 8caa1faa-d256-4ee5-af88-0bec186abe6c
If this error is be observed, the name servers are unable to resolve the central node FQDN (name resolution is not happening).
Is the system a virtual environment running VMWare with VMware Tools 10.2.0?
A defect in the VMWare Tools version 10.2.0 leads to port exhaustion and network connections being terminated.
Please review VMWare's knowledge base for details.
