The following step by step guide gives instructions on how to transfer a QlikView Desktop license from an old to a new machine.
Environment:
QlikView
On the old machine:
- Open QlikView Desktop.
- Go to Settings > User Preferences > License
- Click on Clear License Information:

- The following popup will appear:

- Click on OK and OK again. Close QlikView.
On the new machine:
- Open QlikView.
- Go to Settings > User Preferences > License
- Click on Change
- Enter your license key (16 digits), control number (5 digits). The Username and Organization does not affect license activation but the fields should be populated. For example, enter your name and company name.
- Press Next.
- Read the Qlik User License Agreement and click on "I agree":

- QlikView has now been licensed. Click on Continue and press OK to confirm.
