Two accounts are present for the same user in Qlik cloud after enabling the IDP(Azure, Okta), one with the email and the other without the email.

Environment

  • Qlik Cloud Services

Resolution

1. log in as both.
2. Pick the one which has less / no stuff
3. If you have stuff, export it all / record what needs to be created
4. Ideally, import and validate as the intended primary user account
5. Delete the record that has less / no stuff
6. Fix what gets broken

Please Note: All content and data will also get removed with the user that gets deleted.

Cause

  • Logged in as the user who already had an email record from QlikIdP
and
  • Messed up the email verified claim hence Two record

For Example :

Currently, you have this:
Name | Email | UserId | Subject
ABC | | 1234 | ABC@abc.com
ABC | ABC@abc.com | hjkd | auth0|1231232124
email and subject are primary keys for user records.
Let's take this as an example:
Name | Email | UserId | Subject
ABC | ABC@abc.com | hjkd | COMPANY\abc
If for (for whatever reason) change the user's email. If the subject remains the same, the user's record will look like this after log in with the new email claim:
Name | Email | UserId | Subject
ABC | ABC2@abc.com | hjkd | COMPANY\abc
