Unable to open QlikView AccessPoint using the Qlikview Desktop IE-plugin

Beginning with Qlikview May 2023 (12.80), QlikView documents cannot be opened using the Desktop AccessPoint with the IE-Plugin. See QlikView: Tool's Menu.

The following prompt is displayed when attempting to open the AccessPoint:

Reload this page in Internet Explorer (IE) mode to access the plugin

Resolution

Two workarounds are available.

Use AJAX to open the AccessPoint

1. Open Favorites & Profile accessible in the top right
   
   
   
   
2. Set the Preferred Client (a) to the Ajax client (b)
   
   
   
   

Use Microsoft Edge to open documents directly in the Qlikview Plugin

See Run Microsoft Edge in IE-mode to be able to use QlikView's Internet Explorer plugin.

Cause

This is working as designed.

Starting with QlikView May 2023, the rendering engine was changed to webview2, which does not support OCX-objects, the underlying technology used to embed the QlikView Plugin in a browser.
