Wrong username and password when connecting to LDAP after upgrade from QlikView 12.40

After upgrade from QlikView 12.40, it is no longer possible to connect to some Generic LDAP servers.

Current distributions fail and setting up a new connection results in wrong username and password.

 

Resolution

  1. Stop the Directory Service Connector service
  2. go to “C:\Program Files\QlikView\Directory Service Connector
  3. edit the QVDirectoryServiceConnector.exe.config file
    • in the  <appSettings> section, add:
       <add key="LegacyConnection" value="true" />
    • save the file
  4. restart the Directory Service Connector service 

 

Cause

LDAP connector changes to comply with new Microsoft security settings. If an outdated LDAP server is deployed it may be necessary to revert to the previous settings.
