Using Github with Pipeline Designer?

Hi,

Currently we are using Talend Studio to publish jobs to Github and Talend Cloud. We're thinking about trying Pipeline Designer. I wasn't able to find any details on how/whether PD integrates with the Github repository ... can someone point me in the right direction?

Hi Paul,

The quick response is that Pipeline Designer pipelines is Cloud database only to store the Pipelines and all other peripheral metadata (Connection, Dataset, metrics, ...).

As I know the roadmap does not include the use of GitHub for storage.

Please have in mind that the Cloud context is very different of the Talend Studio application.

The first advantage is that you no more need powerful computers to design a Pipeline since you can use a lightweigh application, you no more need to maintain and upgrade heavy Studio on a dedicated desktop computer. And you can continue to process your full run job on your own servers using the Remote Engine.

For the moment Pipeline Designer is a complementary solution to the Talend Studio, not equivalent, let's try the Pipeline Designer free trial to have a preview from https://www.talend.com/products/cloud-pipeline-designer

Whatever, you are free to propose a feature request which could response to a need we would not identify at this moment.

Thank you,

Axel

Thanks, Axel. Some of our processes are probably too complex for Pipeline Designer, but we may look into migrating some of the simpler workflows.
