You may already know that in February we launched our first ever Qlik Academic Program Datathon, in partnership with C40 Cities Climate Leadership Group. The aim of the datathon is to get students to tackle a series of climate related challenges using data, and to present their solutions in Qlik Sense. The original plan was for the winning teams to come to our annual conference, QlikWorld, to showcase their proposals and for the overall winner to be selected, but unfortunately the universe had other plans! Due to the COVID-19 outbreak Qlik has taken the decision to cancel the in-person event, and to replace it with a virtual QlikWorld conference, QlikWorld Online, which will be taking place on June 24th and 25th. As the event is now due to happen a little later than originally planned, we have been able to extend the deadline for participation, to get even more students involved!
The new deadline for submissions is nowMay 1st and winners of each Challenge will be announced on May 8th. The winners for each challenge will receive a US$500 electronic gift card per person and will be given the opportunity to have their solution presented during QlikWorld Online. The overall winner will then be announced after QlikWorld Online and will receive an additional US$500 electronic gift card per person.
Remember, to enter you must be a University student and a member of the Qlik Academic Program. If you are not already a member you can sign up here. You can either enter as an individual or as a team of two people. Just remember, if you are working as a pair, both team members must register separately, and make sure you use the same “Team Name” on both registration forms.
As well as getting your hands on the main prizes, this is also a great opportunity to learn new skills, enhance your CV and to build your professional network with Qlik employees, customers, partners and climate experts. For more details and to sign up, please visit our Datathon registration page. We can’t wait to see all of your innovative ideas!
