If I upload a qvf file will Qlik answer be able to share all the logics, source system and details from the script.
Short answer: no — and that's by design.
When a QVF is uploaded to Qlik Cloud and made available to Qlik Answers, what Answers indexes is the resulting data model — the fields, structure, master dimensions and measures, descriptions, and business logic synonyms. It does not have access to, and will not expose:
Qlik Answers only sees what lands in the data model after the script has run. Think of it as the analogy of a finished report — Answers can tell you what the data says, but it has no visibility into how the data got there.
This is actually a meaningful security positive: there's no risk of source system details or transformation logic being surfaced to end users through a chat interface.
If the goal is to document or query the script logic itself, that would need to be handled separately — for example, by adding script documentation as a knowledge base source in Answers, rather than relying on the QVF directly.
Thank you for your response! Can you explain how to achieve "by adding script documentation as a knowledge base source in Answers, rather than relying on the QVF directly." Also is there a trial version available for Qlik Answer to explore the functionality
Hi there is no trail version AFAIK .but you can try below steps
Export script logic from Data Load Editor
Convert script into documentation format
Save as
script_documentation.docx
Create Knowledge Base in Answers
Then upload this doc file
Create Assistant → Add Knowledge Base → Index content
Then after
Explain logic
+ analyze data
+ generate charts
The logics can be retrieved as @Chanty4u described. You will have to build a knowledge base and feed it with your script. Then, you will be able to ask Answers to explain the logics of the script.
For the sources, you could do the same. But depending on the use for it, you may prefer using the Lineage straight from Qlik Cloud. It provides excellent output.
