Qlik MCP - Creating an OAuth for connection to Cursor LLM

I'm trying to set up our Qlik MCP server.  I am trying to create an OAuth connection for Cursor LLM but the callback URL that is provided does not work.  I'm following Qlik documentation.

https://help.qlik.com/en-US/cloud-services/Subsystems/Hub/Content/Sense_Hub/QlikMCP/Administering-Ql...

Cursor documentation specifies a static URL to set up a connection to MCP.

https://cursor.com/docs/context/mcp

When I try to add the redirect URL, "cursor://anysphere.cursor-mcp/oauth/appname/callback", I get this error message.

redirecturis scheme needs to follow rfc8252 got "cursor" in "cursor://anysphere.cursor-mcp/oauth/user-/callback"
Error code: OAUTH-CLIENTS-9
Trace ID: 3d768c951e08e5cb08626fb6861b688d

What should I do to remedy this?

I have not.  I tried removing one of the slashes which was a suggestion i found in the documentation but that did not work.  Qlik is probably preventing any non "https" call back URLs.  This is not good.

@pablolabbe @micahsakata Thanks for your posts and for the interesting question.

Qlik MCP relies on OAuth 2.0 for the authentication and follow the RFC-8252 security standards.
Generally, the RFC-8252 standard allows the usage of personal URI for redirect for native application (myapp://callback).
For security reasons Qlik Cloud (like other application) allows redirects only to https:// and to http://localhost, and not to personal URI, as requested by Cursor.com.
For this limitation, Cursor.com currently can't connect to Qlik MCP.
Our development team is working to support Cursor.com, but we do not have an official date so far.
