Get variable out off app

WIth an Automation I'm trying to get a variable from a QS app.

the user put in a number via an inputbox and then press a button to start a automation.

I found a post about how to do this (https://community.qlik.com/t5/Qlik-Application-Automation/Get-Variable-Value-of-an-App/td-p/1959562) but for me it doesn't seem to work.

So I got an variable in the QS app called vExpression. this is set to an inputbox. at the start of the app this is blank.

after the user put in some data (numbers only) the variable is filed with a value. I see the number in the Qlik Sense app but when I try and get this 1.4 number from the app to the automation it doesn't work. (screenshot 2 and screenshot 3)

is there away to get this working?

@joaopaulo_delco , thx for the response. I should have mentioned in the post (i've fixed this since) that I followed the steps in that video as well as the post I mentioned earlier. 

right now I got it working via an other post made by @Emile_Koslowski that explained the video in more detail.
