Scheduling in QAA

I have the following request from customer:

Schedule QAA to run on 1st day of the month

Schedule QAA to run every quarter

Schedule QAA to run within a single day multiple timing

There is an example at https://community.qlik.com/t5/Official-Support-Articles/How-to-run-an-automation-once-a-month/ta-p/1... to run the automation daily and check if its the 1st day of the month then reload else exit.  But this will means that I have to run waste 29 automation runs just for 1 successful run.

I also tried updating the schedule to beyond 30 days and it ended up removing my existing schedule.

Is there any workaround on this?

Hello @Edy_Tan
Setting up an external script that acts as a scheduler that triggers automations to run when desired could be a way to avoid unwanted automation runs.

Hello @J_Lindberg , do you have an example script for this? Do you mean a scheduler outside of the Qlik Cloud environment?

Hello @Sander_Persgroep, I'm afraid not. This would be a scheduler hosted externally to trigger an automation using a webhook URL. The automation would have to be in Triggered run mode for this to work:

Another approach could be to set up automations that reschedule themself. Here you will find an example of that: https://community.qlik.com/t5/Qlik-Application-Automation/scheduling-an-automation-at-specific-time/...
