We have used an Office SMTP Relay to distribute reports in the past through NPrinting. When attempting to configure the Mail Connection for Application Automation, it requires a password even when Security is set to none:

The security option is to choose the encryption you prefer when sending an email and is not linked to the authentication mechanism of this connection to your SMTP mail server. We only support the username-password authentication. 

Please note we cannot support authentication based on IP whitelisting because automation is part of the Qlik Cloud offering and has static IP addresses (for all users).
