For SQL Server in a VM - yes you treat it just like on-premise SQL Server as far as pre-req's go.

for Azure SQLDB (I'm a bit confused cause you mentioned Azure, but then AWS ? ) - it is recommended to use the CDC based connector.   This leverages MS-CDC to gather and capture changes due to how logs are managed / not accessible from an Azure SQL DB database.

Pre-reqs for the MS-CDC connector can be found here - https://help.qlik.com/en-US/cloud-services/Subsystems/Hub/Content/Sense_Hub/DataIntegration/SourcesC...

FYI - this doc page provides the mapping of db 'type' to the connector to use - https://help.qlik.com/en-US/cloud-services/Subsystems/Hub/Content/Sense_Hub/DataIntegration/SourcesC...

When you say Microsoft SQL Cloud - do you mean Azure SQL DB, or Azure SQL MI or running SQL Server in a VM in Azure or another method of SQL server in the cloud?

Hello @TimGarrod ,

I sincerely appreciate your assistance. I would like to discuss AWS Microsoft SQL RDS for clearance.

Thank you,
