Difference between What-if,Predicitve and Diagnostics analysis?

Hi Folks

Can anyone kindly explain in-detail regarding What-if,Predicitve and Diagnostics analysis.As i feel all these are almost similar.

What-if - can be categorized as ad-hoc analysis - like case to case scenario analysis

Diagnostics - can be categorized as root-cause analysis

Predictive - can be categorized as extrapolation / prediction (currently you need to integrate QV with R for this)

Hope this gives you an overview difference between these 3.
