Using FileDSN to connect to database

I've a FileDSN which I want to use to connect to my DB. My ODBC driver only supports FileDSN. I don't see any option to create aa ODBC connection using FileDSN. Please help.

When you open ODBC Connector from Administrator tools, apart from User & System, you will find File DSN. Only restriction being the other system where you may access also need to use File DSN. below diagram showcases that.

Hope this clarifies.

Hi Madhusudhan,

Thanks for your reply. I guess my question was not so clear.

I wanted to know whether we can use FileDSN as connection string in QlikView. While working I found the we can use UserDSN or SystemDSN but there was no option available to use FileDSN to create connection in QlikView.

Hi All,

I think my question was not so clear enough.

Actually, I want to know whether we can use FileDSN as connection string in QlikView. While working I found the we can use UserDSN or SystemDSN but there was no option available to use FileDSN to create connection in QlikView.

Sorry for inconvenience.

Hi,

Same Issue/ Requirement we want to test ODBC config (connection to a Cloud DB) via 'File DSN' option available in 'ODBC 32/64 Bit viewer' in Qlik Windows server. Please share/comment if you've found a way for it.
