Access to all NewsStand Reports

I am a Qlik Sense and NPrinting developer. What permissions do I need to be able to see all the reports in the NewsStand? The former guy just seemed to receive every single NPrinting report- lots of emails. I would just like to see all the reports being sent there and encourage company use. I currently have the Administrator role in NPrinting which has everything checked for Apps, Users, and Admin. What am I missing?

Hi @timothyj

Reports from NPrinting are sent per task basis to destinations. Destinations can be: Email, News Stand,(Folder, Qlik Sense Hub (if configured)). Since you are asking this basic question I strongly suggest you first thoroughly study whole help site section to understand an impact when enabling News Stand (and/or other sources) when distributing reports. https://help.qlik.com/en-US/nprinting/February2025/Content/NPrinting/DistributionSchedulesAutomation...

With that being said you need to be aware that distributing reports to News stand has to be managed and considered as depending on how you will configure it you may require very significant disk space on NPrinting C drive as NewsStand will have to store a version of the report each of recipients is receiving which in very short time can take up a lot of disk space. Backup of repository will have to include all those reports as well causing quite a lot of trouble for backup process.

From my experience using News Stand is very cumbersome. Preview of report in News Stand is not ideal as rendering is rather poor and the fact that as documented C drive can only be used company wide you will fill that C drive in very short time.

For other users to access news stand they will need News Stand role to be applied.

@timothyj yes just like @Lech_Miszkiewicz already said, Newsstand can take up a lot of space on C: use it wisely 🙂
