Call OnDemand Report from within Qlikview Document using API

Hi,  I have seen this article https://qliksupport.force.com/articles/000042381 and want to know if it is possible to call an OnDemand Report from a button with a Qlikview Document rather install the AccessPoint button:  

Due to limitations with OnDemand and Tiggers/Variables we need to force the user to manually select data items before running they can run a report. Any advice appreciated

From https://help.qlik.com/en-US/nprinting/November2020/Content/NPrinting/On-Demand/Create-Report-On-Dema... "Any QlikView Server selections you have made will be applied to your report output. For example, if you set a filter to only show sales in a certain region, only that region's data will appear.". You can apply selections.

You can use this API https://help.qlik.com/en-US/nprinting/November2020/APIs/NP+API/index.html?page=34 to run an On-Demand report and it supports field selections https://help.qlik.com/en-US/nprinting/November2020/APIs/NP+API/index.html?page=78.
