Dear friends,
In my company we are trying to set NPrinting for the first time and we are having some hard time syncing the users from Active Directory.
We have aproximetly 12k users in the Active Directory, Those users are not set in a specific group, but they all are under same OU.
We want to sync all those users and assign them with a specifc Role in NPrinting. (Default "New Stand User" Role).
We did managed to Sync a specific group from Active Directory and assign them with the specifc role on Nprinting. (The role we created in NP is called the same as the group we imported from AD).
But how can we sync users that are not in group in AD and how we can assign them a Role in NPrinting automatically when they are synced ?
Our goal is to build a mechansim that syncs users automatically and assign them with defualt Role we configure.
Attaching screenshot of our current configuration and hoping we can find a solution for this.
Thank you!
Hi, you can also import user using an excel file: https://help.qlik.com/en-US/nprinting/May2022/Content/NPrinting/DeployingQVNprinting/Import-Users-Fi...
To automate this you can do a Qlikview/Sense app to process the data, so you have all script power to manipulate data as you need, then use nprinting to generate the excel using this data.
Note that the excel has to have the exact format as the sample, if you don't need a column or sheet just leave it empty, don't delete them.
Thank you @rubenmarin for your response.
We also encountered this solution but unfortunatly it doesn't suitable for us.
We want NPrinting to be connected straight to AD and sync the users from there so we wont have to do any manual maintenance on it. (Just like we have in Qlik Sense)
Is there is a way to achieve this:
build a mechansim that syncs users automatically from AD and assign them with defualt Role we configure ? (Even if users aren't part of any group ?)
Hi Adam,
Your post has been moved to the NPrinting Community forum which will give you exposure to a wider audience of NPrinting users.
