NPrinting Report to Email License Question

Hello,

Does a user who also will be a recipient of the report and will be imported into Qlik Nprinting through bulk import following this guide:

https://help.qlik.com/en-US/nprinting/February2025/Content/NPrinting/DeployingQVNprinting/Import-Use...

has to have a valid QlikSense License in order to be able to receive a report to his email?

Regards,
Marcin

The NPrinting end user recipients need only be NPrinting users.https://help.qlik.com/en-US/nprinting/February2024/Content/NPrinting/Recipients&Users/Create-users-f...

A Qlik Sense license is not needed to view NP reports.

You can also use Newsstand to distribute reports as well.

Kind regards.

Thank you Frank :)!

So it means the number of users in NPrinting is independent of the numbers of licenses in QlikSense and it is not breaching any licensing agreements etc, correct?

I'm trying to implement a personalized reports where each user will have the data only related to his name and the only solution I have in mind is that I have to create user and dedicated filter for each user. In my opinion there is no other way to do that.

Marcin

Hi @marcin_st12345

correct. The best method is what you described:

  • create all users
  • assign user filters
  • generate reports.

alternative would be to use section access - but I dont recommend this method as it is slower in report generation as well as it complicates scenario where users dont have Qlik sense access or dont belong to the same domain

cheers

Thank you guys, is there a limit on a number of users that can be imported in one user import task? I'm looking at 400-500 users.

You will be fine. That is still within the reason. Importing that amount of users is not a problem
