NPrinting Setup options

Dear all,

I am using NPrinting 17.3 with QlikSense and it's installed on one of my servers along with QS 3.2. I know it's not the best option and this configuration is not recommended, so I am looking for better solutions. Also, I am planning to have few people working on Reports' designs, so one of the options I would like to try is the following:

Ideally, I would like to have a Designer installed on couple laptops which will have a QS Desktop version running on the same PCs.

  • Any limitations/licensing/etc. issues with this kind of setup?

Or is it possible to use “cloud-based” access to NPrinting console and Reports from a NPrinting Designer installed on a local PC?

Would appreciate your comments or suggestions how to handle this setup.

Regards,

Vladimir

You should have nprinting installed on a seperate sever to sense. part of the setup involves the import of a certificate from the sense server onto the nprinting server so wonder if you will get issues.  also nprinting as a tool is a hungry beast and it will eat all your available cores and ram to generate the reports making that servers ability to run your apps limited.

As far as designer goes you can install on a number of machines subject to your developer licences but place note you will not be able to use desktop as your source apps.

NPrinting does not support Qlik Sense Desktop.

A typical deployment has the developers open the designer client locally on their machine, accessed thru the NPrinting web console.

Stephen,

I've checked several articles (including ones published by you - Qlik NPrinting 17 Install Guide - for Qlik Sense reporting, for example) but I could not locate the information how to configure a Designer to be connected to NPrinting Web Console and to the NPrinting Server. I know I might be blind and it's Friday afternoon, but could you please point me to the right reference?

Regards,

Vlad
