NPrinting : The Preview Request Failed with Message : unknown

I have a Qlik Sense application that has around 20 sheets. I am willing to connect the app to NPrinting in order to be able to extract a table from the front end to excel daily.

When I open NPrinting Designer 17, I choose the table to be extracted ( by it's Object ID) and place it in the Excel.

When I press preview, the below error is appearing:

clipboard_image_0.png

I did some research about this error, they are saying there might be an extension or a wrong formula used in the application that is not supported by NPrinting. So I duplicated the app and deleted all my sheets except the one that contains the table to be exported. Additionally I deleted all Master Dimensions in the app.

Unfortunately,  the same error is still appearing.

NOTE: I have other applications on Qlik Sense that are working normally on NPrinting. Just this app is giving me this error

I would appreciate it if someone could help.

Thanks!

Hi @georgio_hb

First, check to ensure that the version of your NPrinting designer is the same version as your NPrinting server. The two must always be the same version. If not errors will occur.

Second, if the versions match, create a simple excel test report using the same connection with a single object.

Does it work? If yes, then you should next.

  • reload/update your NPrinting connection
  • open the report and right click on each table (note that pivot tables cannot be used with NP 17. Latest versions do support them).
  • select 'update' from the context menu in order to update any changes in the source objects
  • Try preview again.
  • If this does not solve the issue, then I would highly recommend that you upgrade to the latest version of NPrinting server and designer (both must be upgraded at the same time to ensure full functionality.)

Kind regards...
