Hi,
I am no expert in excel macro but some time ago have created NPrinting excel report using macro and it was working fine until the users started using office 365. The report is throwing syntax error ( screen shot attached). The report opens fine in office 2016 computer/server. I have already tried re creating the report in NPrinting designer where office 365 is used but I am getting different error when trying to save and close the designer. Please advice on what can be done for this report for it to function in office 365. Also attaching the macro.
Thanks,
Sikander
Hi @sikander02
I am not in position to comment on your macro so I will not do that as that is purely an excel functionality and has nothing to do with NPrinting. If you get your macro working directly in Office 365 you may then consider changing it in nPrinting. First however it needs to be working in Excel - office 365.
All I know is that macro needs to be written in XLSM file and then such file needs to be used as a template file to create NPrnting report and then report can be edited in NPrinitng Designer.
I was never successful with changing actual macro in NPrinitng Designer, instead it had to be done in excel xlsm file.
So, You may as well try and export your report, Unzip it, edit your excel file directly in excel, save it, zip it back and reimport the whole report to save you time.
or
As I said earlier create XLSM file with new macro and create report from beginning.
cheers
HI Miszkiewicz,
Thank you for your response. You are right it should be .xlsm format. I did already try making it work in excel office 365 and then using that file as template for a new report but I am not able to save and close the NPrinting designer. It throws following error each time I hit "Preview" or "Save & Close" in NPrinting Designer.
Thanks,
Sikander
Error indicates that something is missing in your template. Some object or entity. It is hard to tell without seeing your template. Have you run: check entities in Designer?
is your Nprinting designer on the same version as the server and engine as that is also compulsory and very important requirement.
